These are typical activities in every DeMolay chapter. What is DeMolay? It’s only the coolest youth leadership group on the planet! Guys you already know are probably already in DeMolay and having the time of their lives while learning civic responsibility and how to be a leader; skills that will become very important to you in the coming years. As far as activities go…the sky is the limit! In DeMolay, the MEMBERS make the decisions. Any member can suggest any activity they want the chapter to participate in and it’s voted on. Each local “chapter” runs itself independently. The “State” is in charge of all of Virginia, and they sponsor state events, such as Conclave in July, which is essentially a weekend of sports and fun at Radford University, and Brotherhood Weekend, which is a day of fun and friendship in Richmond. We also go to Luray Caverns every June.

DeMolay is an organization dedicated to preparing young men to lead successful, happy, and productive lives. Basing its approach on timeless principles and practical, hands-on experience, DeMolay opens doors for young men aged 12 to 21 by developing the civic awareness, personal responsibility and leadership skills so vitally needed in society today. DeMolay combines this serious mission with a fun approach that builds important bonds of friendship among members in more than 1,000 chapters worldwide. DeMolay alumni include Walt Disney, John Wayne, Walter Cronkite, football Hall-of-Famer Fran Tarkenton, legendary Nebraska football coach Tom Osborne, news anchor David Goodnow and many others. Each has spoken eloquently of the life-changing benefit gained from their involvement in DeMolay.

What are the requirements to join?

The requirements are few, but each is important. To be a member of DeMolay, a young man must:
  • Be between the ages of 12 and 21.
  • Be of good character and reputation
  • Have a belief in one God, Supreme Being or Deity.

Thats it! All that's left to do is fill out a membership application and get it to your nearest DeMolay chapter
