  2. International Volley Ball rules shall apply.
  3. Each regional winner is automatically eligible for the state competition. It is assumed that each region will conduct its own runoff.
  4. Six players will constitute a full team. A team cannot play with fewer than four members.
  5. Uniforms are not required, but in keeping with the DeMolay ideal of cleanliness, uniforms or similar dress is encouraged.
  6. Shorts are required and tennis shoes are required for all hard surface courts.
  7. A game will be played to fifteen points. A team must win by two points.
  8. The best two out of three games will win the match.
  9. Matches will be sixty minutes long. If sixty minutes are up before the end of the third game, whoever is ahead by two points wins that game.
  10. You must volley for serve. The ball must go over the net three times before it is legal.
  11. You may only substitute when the ball is not in play or when it is your serve. You may have up to six substitutes at one time. No matter how many people are substituted, one sub must serve.

  16. Each team will be permitted two 30 second time outs in each game, but only when the ball is not in play. Players may not leave the court and no subbing will be permitted during a time out. If more than two time outs are needed, the official will call a fault which will result in loss of point and serve.
  17. Injury time outs may only be called by the official.
